Quick fix diets, are these the answer to our prayers or the diets that nightmares were created with. I believe they are the latter. You will loose weight if you only drink lemonade (the Beyonce diet) however this is not maintanable and will only make you feel rather ill, dizzy and tired. Lets face it if we were meant to live on lemonade or cabbage why have we got teeth.
Our bodies are designed to be able to survive during “hard times” and possible starvation. Therefore if you suddenly reduce the amount of food and subsequent calories you are having `the body will store the fat it has. The body does this by reducing the metabolic rate which will make sure you can live on less food. The main problem occurs when after living on Beyonces lemonade diet for a week you decide you are so hungry you could literally eat a horse. Your body, by then, has become accustomed to less food and will be able to survive on it and you will pile on the pounds.
A point to remember before embarking on these diets is that it will be mainly water you are losing, not fat. If you are prone to bloating, I sure am, then this is what you will loose first. You may think you have lost some weight but once you eat other foods this will soon return. So disheartening.
Quick fix diets galore, where to start, what to choose. Well if it was me I would maybe pick one of them just for a few days to give you a bit of a boost. Its always nicer to feel a few pounds lighter, quickly.
This ensured that the quick fix diets hadnt slowed my metabolic rate down to much and my body then wasnt going to pile the pounds on when I started eating different foods. Pretty simple approach but it does work and its not a fad.
